Paula’s Choice Shine Stopper // I have semi-oily skin, so after I moisturize I apply this shine stopper product. It gives my face a matte feeling that lasts all day. It’s the perfect base for my foundation.
Nars Sheer Glow Foundation // I am in love with this foundation. It took me a while to find one that I liked; one that didn’t leave my face feeling trapped. This sheer glow foundation matches my skin tone perfectly and gives me just the right amount of coverage without feeling cakey.
Smashbox Halo Hydrating Powder // I love this powder for freshening up. It’s hydrating, so it feels amazing when you use it during the day when you want to freshen up your face.
Sephora Eye Liner Electro // I’ve been using this eye liner for a while and I just love it. It has little hints of sparkle, so it’s a fun twist to add to my eyes.
Urban Decay Eyeshadows // I actually own the Naked Palette and these are my three favorite shades that I always go to (Toasted, Sidecar and Sin). *I actually am not a huge fan of the Naked Palette… I wish I would’ve bought the Naked2 – MUCH better colors*
Nars Blush & Bronzer // (In Orgasm and Laguna) I love this blush and bronzer set. It adds just the right amount of color to my very light skin.
Sephora Lip Gloss // (In red fizz) I just started using this and I love it. It’s the perfect glossy red and stays on my lips for a long time.
This past weekend one of my best friends and her boyfriend came from Phoenix to visit Luke and I for a very long (and very fun) weekend. They’d never been to the Northwest, I’m sure all that they knew about Portland was from Portlandia, and that everyone says it rains here all.the.time. Lucky for them the weather cooperated and it was sunny & in the 60’s all weekend. At some point on Sunday we were all feeling pretty warm and toasty in the sun at the Portland Saturday Market – that can only mean that summer is on its way, right?
We spent the weekend showing our friends around town, eating VooDoo Doughnuts, browsing through books at Powell’s, strolling down some cute shops on Mississippi, catching a few happy hours (at Portland City Grill and Oba) breakfasting at Stepping Stone, dining on a delicious dinner at Russell Street BBQ a d some bar crawling in the Pearl District (Deschutes, Henry’s and Blitz). It was such a fantastic weekend, I didn’t want it to end.
I only get to see Erin about once a year, but every time we just pick up where we left, like no time has passed. I know we’ll be friends forever because of that. (The only thing that was missing was Cheyenne). She was definitely there in spirit though.
More Portland photos coming soon 🙂
We’ve got the house sparkling clean.
The refrigerator stocked full of goodies.
The guest room all set up with clean sheets and fresh flowers.
The guest bathroom stocked with extra goodies, in case our guests happen to forget anything.
A “Welcome to Portland” gift bag waiting on the window sill.
Today my Phoenix best friend and her boyfriend are coming to visit for a long weekend! They’ve never been to Portland, so we’re going to show them everything that this wonderful city has to offer. We’re taking them to Powell’s Books, VooDoo Doughnuts, Multnomah Falls, a good happy hour spot, a popular breakfast spot… and then anything else that they can think of.
If you’re from Portland, or currently live here,
what are your recommended “must-see’s” or “must-do’s”?
