A recent trip to Vancouver B.C.

Back in November we traveled up north to Vancouver BC for a long weekend after Thanksgiving. We had our first Airbnb experience, but I neglected to ever share photos from our trip #badblogger! As with every trip I take, I usually come home with approximately a million photos. This trip was no exception. Here are a few favorites from one of our most loved cities!

All bundled up because it was cold!
Coffee Crisps, if you know – you know
The Oysters @ Rodney’s Oyster House were amazing.
Beyonce was doing a show at BC place when this photo was taken.

Canada Day 3

On our last full day in Vancouver, we started off the morning right with some yummy crepes at Cafe Crepe and then hit the streets once again to take in some more sights. We ventured over to Stanley Park and walked along the seawall on the edge of the city. It was such a gorgeous walk; there were trees as far as the eye could see in every shade of red you can imagine. As we were nearing the end of our walk we got caught in a heavy downpour and had to take cover in a nearby coffee shop (okay, it was a Starbucks…). My sister showed up with the car a little while later & we headed to Yaletown… More to come on that next week though!
Hope you all have an incredible weekend!

Canada Day 2

We woke up to the most gorgeous view of the city & then went out in search of breakfast. Unfortunately we didn’t choose a great place, but out of respect for that establishment I won’t give out their information 🙂 We spent some time just leisurely walking around and taking in a beautiful and crisp fall day.

We walked down to Sunset Beach in the West End & hopped on a little tugboat over to Granville Island. Once at Granville Island we spent a few hours walking around, taking in the sunshine & drooling over everything at the Granville Island Public Market. Seriously, it puts Pike Place Market to shame. At this point we were really regretting our Dutch breakfast because the food here looked 10 times better!

When our friends met up with us, we ventured over to the Granville Island Brewing’s tasting room & sipped on some delicious beers. It’s a bummer that they only allow each person 12.5 oz a day – we would’ve totally ordered pitchers!

Heather rolled into town & we met up with her on Robson Street for some tapas then relaxed in the hotel & ventured out for sushi at Sushi Mart later in the evening. A great sushi joint with great prices!

Canada Day 1

After a (very horrible) 5:00am wake-up call, Luke & I got ready & headed out the door towards downtown Portland to meet our friends & catch the 6:30am Bolt Bus towards Vancouver B.C.!!! (I also have to add that the Bolt Bus was a total of $75 for Luke and I both, round trip – cheaper than gas and way cheaper than the train!)

After countless hours on the bus (& a stop in Seattle, Bellingham & the border crossing…) we made it to the Vancouver train station between 2:30-3:00pm.  After a very quick ride on the SkyTrain, we lugged our bags through the streets of Vancouver to our hotel. We checked into our hotel in the West End & instantly got blown away by the impressive views of the city from our balcony. We got freshened up, re-grouped & then hit the streets in search of food!

We ventured over to Gastown & sipped on a few beers at Chill Winston while we all chatted about how fashionable everyone in Vancouver is. Seriously, everyone is so well put together in this town. We walked a few blocks down the road & enjoyed a group dinner at the Lamplighter. This was my favorite moment of the trip. We were all together & excited to be on vacation in such a great city 🙂

After dinner, we wandered around for a bit & found a few dive bars while we waited for our local friend, Richard to show up. The long day had finally caught up with me – so Katie & I took a cab back to the hotel to rest up for day two…
